An overlook of the Kickapoo River is found just past the short (~500 feet) “open” segment of the trail.Īt Billings Creek you can hop or leap across our stepping stones. There are two small streams in deep valleys that need to be crossed before reaching Billings Creek. The hike begins with a short and steep climb, but for most of the hike, the trail more or less follows a low wooded ridge. Walk east along the road and look for the trail starting on your left (about 500 feet from bridge). After crossing Bridge 8, park along south side the road. To access the trail, turn east on Winchell Valley Road from State Hwy 131. Long pants are strongly recommended since the trail can be brushy at times. Trail crossings are generally shallow and too wide to jump across.īillings Creek Trail (one-way trail length of 2 miles)įor those willing to take on a more rugged and less maintained trail, we would suggest the Billings Creek Trail.
